At Mezan, we strive to provide a valuable service for calculating your Zakat obligations. This Refund Policy outlines our approach to refunds for our Zakat Season Pass and Zakat Season Pass Ultimate subscriptions.

Summary: Due to the nature of our digital service and the immediate access provided upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds. However, we review refund requests on a case-by-case basis for exceptional circumstances.

1. General Refund Policy

All purchases of Mezan subscriptions are final. Upon payment, you receive immediate access to:

  • Connection to financial institutions through Plaid
  • Zakat calculation features based on your subscription tier
  • Access to your financial data aggregation and analysis
  • 30 days of full service access

Because our service provides immediate value and access to financial data processing, refunds are not automatically granted.

2. Free Tier

Mezan offers a free tier that allows you to connect 1 financial account and experience our Zakat calculation features at no cost. We encourage all users to try the free tier before making a purchase to ensure our service meets their needs.

3. Exceptional Circumstances

We may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis for the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Technical Issues: If our service is significantly unavailable or non-functional during your subscription period due to issues on our end
  • Duplicate Charges: If you were accidentally charged multiple times for the same subscription
  • Unauthorized Transactions: If a purchase was made without your authorization (subject to verification)
  • Service Misrepresentation: If the service does not function as described on our website

Refund requests for exceptional circumstances must be submitted within 7 days of purchase.

4. What Is Not Eligible for Refund

The following situations do not qualify for a refund:

  • Change of mind after purchase
  • Dissatisfaction with Zakat calculation results (calculations are based on the data you provide and scholarly methods you select)
  • Inability to connect certain financial institutions (some institutions may not be supported by Plaid)
  • Forgetting to cancel auto-renewal (if enabled)
  • Not using the service during your subscription period
  • Disagreement with Islamic rulings or calculation methods (these are configurable within the app)
  • Issues caused by inaccurate data from your financial institutions

5. Auto-Renewal Cancellation

By default, Mezan subscriptions do not auto-renew. If you have opted into auto-renewal:

  • You may cancel auto-renewal at any time before the next billing cycle
  • Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period
  • You will retain access until your current subscription expires
  • No refund will be provided for the remaining days of your current billing period

6. How to Request a Refund

If you believe you qualify for a refund under our exceptional circumstances policy, please contact us:

  1. Email support@mezan.us with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Include your account email address
  3. Provide details of your purchase (date, amount, subscription type)
  4. Explain the reason for your refund request
  5. Include any relevant documentation or screenshots

We will review your request and respond within 5 business days.

7. Refund Processing

If your refund request is approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to your original payment method
  • Refunds typically take 5-10 business days to appear in your account
  • Your subscription access will be terminated upon refund approval
  • Connected financial account data will be scheduled for deletion

8. Chargebacks

If you believe there has been an error with your payment, please contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. We are committed to resolving issues promptly and fairly.

Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in:

  • Immediate termination of your account
  • Inability to create future accounts
  • Delays in resolving the underlying issue

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
